Continuing Education (CE) 1-hr Sexual Harassment Prevention Training from Illinois Required Training Solutions
Do you work in a profession with Illinois Continuing Education (CE) requirements? Sexual harassment prevention training is now required as part of those CE hours. Effective January 1, 2020, any professional working in a profession that has continuing education requirements must include at least one hour of sexual harassment prevention training to renew their license. This is due to Public Act 100-0762, enacted through Illinois House Bill 4953 (McAuliffe/Bush, 8/10/2019).
In renewal reminder emails, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) is calling this the “Continuing Education (CE) 1-hr Sexual Harassment Prevention Training.”
The IDFPR also notes the following:

This CE may be taken at ANY approved CE provider for ANY profession. Whether you’re a dentist, counselor, athletic trainer, nurse, acupuncturist, etc. you can take the course with us and it will count towards your renewal requirement.

This CE requirement only applies to individual licensees and does not apply to licensed businesses, or to licensees under the Division of Professional Regulation renewing for the first time.

ONLY licensees who are required to do CE as a condition of the renewal of their license are required to complete the CE 1-hr Sexual Harassment Prevention Training.

This CE requirement is included in the number of hours already required under the individual Acts and Rules. It does not increase the number of hours required to renew a license.
Illinois Required Training Solutions is approved by the State of Illinois as a Professional Counselor CE Sponsor.
